you know, just replacing that seal (which lasts >100k miles), would require 
less work than designing a properly working drop in replacement for the hall 
sender. also, you would have to seal the distributor better than stock (rain 
splash from driving in deep water, for example).

not trying to shoot you down or anything, i just see a simpler solution at 
present.
