The Mk1 & Mk2 Scirocco are A1 vws. The new chassis cars made after 1984
are A2s; Jettas, Golfs, etc. (I simplify of course.)
A1 seats have a different seat channel than the later chassis.
Scirocco seats sit a little lower than other models.
Fitting later seats meant for a different chassis usually means grafting
the seat onto either Scirocco 'rails' or recovering the Scirocco seat
with teh later foam and skin.
