Rear wing functionality

Yep, on the raddo and b3 passat(now Jim J's) had only the notches, and if it's windy at the pump, you'd need to keep an eye on it.

The new ones still have the notches but also have a cable holding the cap to the car.

If this is on the A-body car we were discussing last week, then yes… To my knowledge, none of the older cars (A3 and back) had this feature… When folks come in complaining they have lost their *(*^&$ gas cap, I offer this as a solution. Most cars have the provision of the hole in the gas door hinge to accept the tail of the cable…

But the cap should have notches in it so it can hook
over the fuel filler door flap?!?! Both of my VW's
have had this and I always really liked the "feature"...

Originally, they did not have this feature. However, the later gas caps had
it, and they superceeded to the newer part number... Again, somebody
correct me if I a wrong, but I believe this is how it went down...

Cheers,
David
