3a/Crossflow into Mk1
Bryan - if you're going to use a X-flow head on a non-ABA block, you shouldn't
have any clearance issues. The real hurdle to overcome is the difference in
size of the main oil return galley. The true way to correct it is to weld the
head galley down to the approximately diameter and location of the
corresponding galley on the block, but some have gotten away without doing
that. There used to be a good write-up on the vortex about it, but the pix are
no longer hosted...
It sounds like your motor is going to be a real thumper. Make sure you get a
good P&P job on that head and a big cam to take full advantage of all them new-
found cc's!
BTW - you can still run CIS w/ a x-flo head...
