i found when i was chaning my oil today that my outer boot on the
passenger side is apparently weeping. i cleaned the bellows with brake
clean but couldn't find any sign of leakage. must have been doing it for
a while, though, as there is caked grease in a number of places
(including the wheel). why does this happen? is it that my clamp is
getting old and needs retightened or a crack in the lip, perhaps? there
is a descent left hand curve that i take rather agressively on the way
home every day. would that have something to do with it? i'm not adverse
to replacing a boot, i'm just not a big fan of it. ideas or suggestions
would be nice. thanx.
