? about 8v alternator brackets

Has anyone tried to make the two-post alterator bracket to the cylinder 
head work on a one-post/old-style head? (the two-post bracket being the 
one that has the geared tensioning system).

I hope that's descriptive enough, I ran out of time to take pix or test 
fit it...got make our dinner plans...  :)
