I've never been pulled over for only having a rear plate. From what I
hear most two-plate states only seriously enforce the front plate
requirement if the police are bored (or if you're in a state surrounded by
other two-plate states.) And I haven't heard of it being a problem for
out of state vehicles for anyone I know.
To be sure, I get a lot more BS from suburban Detroit cops than I've ever
gotten outside Michigan. I think you'll be safe as long as you're not
flagrantly breaking any laws. :)
