Questions about 3A swap.



I think the real knock about the 1.7 head is that it has small valves. 34mm intakes vs. 40mm IIRC
Even with a 1.8 head a 2.0 doesn't have much top end power due to the limited breathing. I'd bet a
1.7 head on a 2.0 block would make power to about 5000RPM.
I think it is actually the oil drain passages that are different, but in any case there would be
some adjustments needed, so as Patrick says the 1.8 head is easy to find and a straight bolt on.
