I'm typing this with hands still faintly smelling of gas from yesterday's
filler neck adventures. After the dealer gave me, yet again, a "close but
not the same" part, which should have been a two minute fix but took the
day, I left my son and friend doing the "Canadian" thing in the other
garage, using small amounts of beer, foul language ("Trailer Park Boys"
style) and a hockey stick to convince a tranny into place, and I hopped into
Klaus, headed for the "VWoT old school meet" in Toronto, two hours away. Now
Klaus knows how to behave, but I still don't trust him. He's plotting
something big.
Anyway, I get over there, lots of old dubs, one of which is a drop dead
gorgeous black MkII. SO I ask the guy if I can take a peek at his filler
neck, and he obliges ( hey, I left Denny home...) and guess what? His is
leaking gas worse than mine. So gas leaks are stylish I guess. I wonder if
they all read the same magazines or something. (I'm just hoping trannys are
not also in fashion around here)
On a plus side, I'm on the big 4 lane highway and this guy in a minivan (
poor sap) pulls up beside me and does the hand gestures - he has a Rocco
too! SO that was my cool Rocco moment for yesterday. The meet was pretty
cool too, it was for anything older than A3s, and there were lots of A1s.
Cathy - 9 dubs, and 6 run!!! WOOHOO
