Does anyone else remember that PBS kids' show "The Electric Company?"

They had words that would slowly come together:

"Sc"..."ir"
"Sc".."ir"
"occo!"
"Sc"."ir".."occo!"
"Scir"."occo!"
"Scirocco!"

That's what else that picture reminds me of.
Though that word would have confused thousands of youngsters.
