Hi everyone
All ready this week to get thew 82 Rocco certified for the road. just
have to have an exhaust system put on (Modified to come off the S&S
Headers). Nothing fancy, just stock for now.
I am being plagues by an couple of electrical malfunctions. Spent the
day re-soldering the "D" plug on the fuse box to a plug I scrounged
from the junker. The old one was burnt at terminals 19 and 20
Anyway, seems I have no left front parking light or left rear tail
light under any conditions. If I put the 4-way flasher on I get both
the front and rear signals to work, (along with the right side) but so
does the left tail light flash along with the signal. just operating
the turn signal gives no flash to either the front or the rear.
In addition the horn only gives a "grunt" I can almost be certain it is
the relay.
I suspect a bad ground on the lights as I have no tail light (left
rear) and no front marker light, but have no idea where to check for
these.
On the very bad side, my "next" winter project (83 GTi Rabbit) was just
totaled on Friday. My son driving and some "failed to check over their
shoulder before changing lanes" dummy cut him off. He ended up sliding
into their rear end. Pushed the right front back about 2". Collapsed
the bumper mount, drove the shock tower up and back and generally bent
the hell out of the right side. the car is 2" shorter on the right. I
will be looking for an new project convertable...yea
