Welcome!
Both versions that TT sells will perform about the same - one would purchase
the aluminized vs. stainless depending on the climate in which you live.
Rainier/snowier areas that tend to have their pavement treated w/
sand/salt/whatever would pretty much require you to run the
stainless...unless you want to repeat the purchase within two years...

On the 16v, the actually labor involves a welder (unlike the early mk2's and
mk1's which have those three-bolt flanges (which are usually rusted over 95%
of the time anyway....))
