VW layoffs & reliability
Quite alright. When delivering one night, I tried everything I could think of. The knob is in the center position, where the defrost symbol is. I tried with defrosters on, regular heater on, rear defrosters on, just about every combo you could think of. Still leaves a glaze of ice on the mirrors. My girlfriend's dad bought her the car, in NY sadly. (She lives in NJ) Had he bought it there, it would have been covered by the Lemon Law and she would have gotten to exchange her car for another! Ah well, aside from the camshaft sensor, it's pretty minor stuff.

Dan,
Not to imply at all that you are dumb, but are you turning the adjustment
knob over to the heated selection? I have had a few folks complain, and then
they realize they never turned them on... You might also check the owners'
bible, and see if the rear defrost must be on simultaneously (on this last
one, I do not know if that is the case, I just offer it as a possible
solution...)...
Good luck with the gremlins... :-)
