no its not a segregation thing its a "not all TEXANS care to be on a list that carries tons of email for no apparrant reason", and most have normal lives down here (ie: jobs and families and somehow the southern folks dont care much to have 100 email a day in their mailbox, thus the local mail, some are, but few in reality, I would think aside from Chuck blue, Brian Wagner, myself and perhaps a few others (and trust me they know it is there as I have refere them all to the sciroco.org web site), its a matter of choice. like vwvortex rocco owners that are not on this list..



Its a free country :) so the american's keep telling me, but I yet to find anything for FREE - I am shure that is just a capitalistic commerical gimmick, but I cannot prove it! (JOKE !!!)

I did not make the rules, it was a vote, and 80% of the votes of the TST group voted for a private list, Ask Ron Pieper he was on it originally when it started, but in the end he had to leave becaus ethe TST folks got upset dont ask me why, they want to keep the TST list small, with only low amount of traffic, and local news only relating to scirocco, they know about the .org group and mailing list and its their decision to or not to join up. simple eh?



I created TST because it was a fact that through all these years, there was no one from texas actually on the .org (or so few that one one noticed) , in one year the number on tst ran from 3 to 22, then next year to 33 and running at 45 this year) list and I wanted to unite the Texan Rocco owners (so we can track down the cars/parts) and eventually one day drag their red-neck arses to cincy (which I have managed with small sucess so far).

Actually to join you have to tell me where you live, what car you have send me a picture (with plate) and most of the time they have been found by a member anyways and someone vouches for their identity and location (grin), its just the way the world turns... But I promise you , we never speak about your  green monster or you in an ill manner (if that is what is bottering you about the private list....lololol)



Personally I think the Rocco list should be that, a scirocco owners list.. if I did not have a scirocco, nor ever intended to buy one, why would I troll the list for ? huh?  well I dunno about lack of gaining information on the cars, seems that 45 members with 2-3 cars each and easily help each other just as well as 350 members that deleted 75% of content based on topic or message sender. no?



but at any case .org list is open to anyone that CARES to be on it. what am I supposed to do IMPOSE TST members to join .org list. that would be .... socialistic on my part :)  they join .org list if they care to. and the TST remains a private heaven of the net where they can chat about what they need or want locally from local rocco-texan-heads.



look at the VW in OH group, I posted once on their public list about a part, and was politely told that A1 MKI suck, that I did not need to post for sale ads as I was a) too far, b) little of no inetrest was going to happen because I was no in OH... so if such a public board is up, and I do not care to be on it, why would I want to join up to it..?



what's eating you is that there is a Scirocco base Mailing list and you can't join it ? lol dude, you need another hobby... like rabbits and jettas or something.
