Sorry to post this at the last minute. It just occured to me that some
Scirocco folk in the PNW may not be tuned in to what's happening on vortex
and other web sites.
The following has been cross posted on this thread in the Dubwars forum on
vwvortex:

For starters, here are some pertinent driving times I got using Mapquest:
Federal Way I-5 weigh station to Buttonwillow, CA:
Total Est. Time: 15 hours, 5 minutes Total Est. Distance: 989.77 miles
Federal Way I-5 weigh station to Medford, OR:
Total Est. Time: 6 hours, 44 minutes Total Est. Distance: 422.77 miles
Medford, OR to Weed, CA:
Total Est. Time: 1 hour, 14 minutes Total Est. Distance: 79.35 miles
Weed, CA to ButtonWillow, CA:
Total Est. Time: 7 hours, 19 minutes Total Est. Distance: 489.11 miles
Here's the rundown as I envision it:
Meet at Federal Way weigh station on southbound I-5 (just south of Exit
142A/B, Hwy 18) at 6:30 PM Thursday night.
Depart for Medford no later than 7:30 PM.
Arrive in Medford at approximately 1:30 AM.
Locate cheap hotel/motel and camp out like cargo container full of illegal
immigants. This means bring sleeping bags and pillows unless you want to pay
for your own room. Whichever you prefer!
Hit the road for Weed, CA, no later than 10 AM Friday morning.
Arrive in Weed at 11:30 PM for lunch.
Depart Weed for Buttonwillow at 1 PM.
Arrive in Buttonwillow approximately 9 PM Friday night.
I understand that some Seattle area folks may not wish to leave Thursday
night at the time we are leaving. And I'm sure others groups will be leaving
from Portland or Oregon locales.
That said, it would be great if everyone can meet up in Weed for lunch
around 11:30 AM on Friday morning.
I think that about sums it up. Still need to find a spot to "camp" in
Medford.
