california smog defeats our engine swap

It originally got flagged as a gross polluter so it had to go to a test-only
station anyway. If you don't know someone, you can't get a pretest without
paying, and some of them won't even do it! I wanted to make sure something
like that wouldn't happen, and they wouldn't pretest it. I had to paid to
fail so just so I could get the temp registration. Dumb.

I had my turbo car registered in Eureka for a long time, but I'm a little
sketchy about doing that now. I might just tell my brother to do that since
it's his car. Hah, my buddy actually has his jeep's registration address at
Best Western in Eureka.

Plan B is to take the car to someone we know well and see if he'll just run
it, because it should pass the sniffer no problem.

Why did you have to go the referee in the first place?

None of the CA smog monkeys I have ever been to would have noticed an RV
motor instead of the stock JH. As for cis-e, most of them wouldn't notice
that either.

If you can share with us why you have to go to the REF, maybe one of the CA
peeps can figure out a work around.......like registering the car in a
county with NO smog?????
