After removing the foam (which is pretty easy), the best way I've found to
remove the glue is to start by removing the hood. Take it outside where
there is fresh air. Spray it with Easy Off oven cleaner. Let it sit
for 20 minutes.
Use a plastic putty knife and a hose. This procedure turns that glue into
a rubbery, runny, gel that rinses and wipes right off. Wear gloves, and
use the heavy duty (more toxic?) Easy Off.
