Don't know much about the history of the '75, but there are a couple who
have them and I'm sure they'll chime in sometime soon.
Your question about the recaros I can answer. The problem is that the recaro
seats sold in cabbies, GTis, and A2/A3's don't (what I like to call) "pitch
in the Z-plane" - basically means that their ass-end doesn't drop down like
in Sciroccos. You need to get recaro seat-bottom sliders specifically for
sciroccos, but they ain't cheap. I plan on getting a set of Recaro Trophy
seats as well but I intend to try to install the bolsters and fabric from
the recaro bottom onto OEM scirocco recaro bottoms. May require some
welding, but it may be more feasible than coughing up the $200+/per for the
original part.
