What years had the 4K tranny?

No mention of anything country specific. i.e Canada or USA which seems very common for later engines
and trannies.
Seems like an awefully short manufacturing span for such a popular tranny.

Canada too?  I'm pretty sure they came in the 83 here...  Don't quote me
on that however - but a friend of mine had a bone stock 83 and it had a
4k in it...

Not true, my friend - only '84's came with them; but they came in the
GTi, Sciroccos and cabbies. The '83's came with the 2H.

Go to the .org site and click on "gears". Between that and Ron's
spreadsheet (a version can be D/L'd there (though I don't know if it's
the most current)) you should be good to go.
