This was the job that prompted me to add a set of flare nut crow's foot
wrenches to my tool collecton. A crows foot on about a 1 foot
extension worked great for the exact line you're talking about. In
metric, you pretty much have a choice of Snap-On (very spendy for the
whole set, or you can just buy the one fitting you need for $15 or so) or
Kamasa, a Swedish brand which I had never heard of before but seemed to
have a good rep when I googled them. I bought the whole set of Kamasa
wrenches for $42 from this place:

I'm pretty happy with the quality.
I think I later saw a set by Facom, but it was just as expensive as the
Snap-on set.
If you want a nice set of flare nut crowfoot wrenches in SAE sizes, Home
Depot of all place has a very nice set for $39.
The other suggestion to drop the axle will also work, but I tend to take
situations like this as an opportunity to buy new toys.
