Speedometer repair

This morning while my roc was warming up, I was fiddling with that speedo 
that is constantly going 85. I had wondered before, but never monkeyed 
with it, if it had mearly slipped off of the first peg and then somehow 
over the second. It would appear that that is what happened, in case 
anyone is interested. 
I'm curious if there is anyone that knows, or knows how to find out, what 
the preload on the needle should be, if you have to remove it and replace 
it with another.
