Young blonds and car maintenance

Well actually the French lists it as

Blonde = female adjective referring to an object of the color blonde.
Blond = male adjective referring to an object of the color blonde.
 
For example, le chien est blond (referring to his coat), le chat est blond,
la chatte est blonde. (the last referring to a female cat with blonde color
coat), Les cheuveux de paul sont blonds, les cheuveux de lisa sont blonds
(as in hair being a male oriented object.)
Lisa est blonde (as in a ditz) (slang use of the word in French btw. Not
proper French usage in a sentence)
Paul est blond refers again to his hair not his ditziness.. 

Yes French is more precise than English in their terminology.

they do.
