Cab Drivers

I used to drive a cab in the early 90's in Portland OR.  Back then,
there were 2 major companies in town and one or two really small ones.
 I drove for Broadway, one of the two bigguns.  I was never an owner
of a cab nor was I ever involved in an accident.  However, I know that
they were all fully insured.  Had to be.

If you get hit by one that's part of a fleet of a huge cab company,
then you shouldn't have to worry.  The ones I would worry about are
the "gypsy" cabs.  The cabs that aren't associated with any company. 
I'm not sure about your local regulations, but back in PDX when I
drove, these "gypsies" were illegal and to be honest, I never saw one.
