reverse issue with an 8v tranny--Grind prevention
A number of years ago, I went from 3rd to 4th and since I wasn't really paying attention (my mind was elsewhere) it wasn't until I had it in 4th that I realized: Hey, I forgot to use the clutch! It was a nice clean shift too. Probably couldn't do it if I _was_ paying attention.

Bah, double-clutching a Scirocco is fluff. Down on the farm we
double-clutch things that have flywheels that weigh more than your
entire engine. And synchros? What the hell are those? A little whiff
of throttle will match the gears up, and if they don't, well, the
