Where is the engine code??
Yes, you are wrong David. ;)
Volkswagen made the JH hydraulic in '88, only in Cabriolets (it's in the
Bentley).
I heard that the Canadian '88 Scirocco 8V, was also a hydro JH.

According to my info here, '90 was the first year for the 2H engine. The 2H
was hydraulic and used Digifant. As far as I can tell here, all the JH were
mechanical. My Ex's '88 Cabby was... I also think that they do not change
the internals on these engines without changing the engine code, another
reason why I believe the JHs are all mechanical... However, if I am wrong,
I am sure that someone will add that to the list... ;-)
Cheers,
David
