Which fuel pump did you replace?

The symptoms kind of sound like the transfer fuel pump, in the tank.

My 86 VW 8V sputters/hesitates and sometimes turns off when stopping at 
intersections, only when the outside temp is above 75F or so, on warmer 
days(runs fine on cooler days), has new thermostat, not overheating but 
running at operating temp, has new fuel pump, filter, rotor, cap, plugs, 
etc.  Has this happened to anyone else? Valves? Timing? Fuel Tank not 
Pressurizing?
