I know you say the cat is too hot if it's melting bushings but I disagree.
The bushings I have seen melt are those just next to the down pipe, a
really hot location. I have also seen discoloration of the paint on the
firewall. The inner CV could use some help to.
WTF- Better to engineer a better than stock one.
