Overkill is a very relative word Patrick.  ;)

Yes, when it comes to lighting, I do like overkill.  The Cessna
landing light are quite *sufficient* for high beams... they are 
very tricky to aim properly, because there is absolutely no
diffusers in the glass.  100% round beam/spot.  Only other problem
is that they are sealed beams, so once burned out, that's it, need
to replace them.  So far so good though...
I've persuaded many people to get out of my way at night with them.
