4 to 5 lug wheel adaptors, good or bad?
While I have no direct experience with these, I will offer two bits of
advice...
1st, Overland sells hubs to replace yours with the later VW 5 X 100 bolt
pattern. This may or may not interest you. If it does, know that I believe
that the front bearings are sacrificed in the removal process. The rears
could be R&Red, but they are so cheap anyways...
2nd,I sensed that you might be worried about safety issues if you used
spacers. Everything that H&R sells is tested under TUV (with an obligatory
umlaut over the U) standards, which are very stingent. Rest assured that they
will not fail if they are properly installed, and the correct ones were chosen
for the job. It should be known that the further you move the wheel away from
the bearing, your leverage against the bearing is increased. IE-- you might
increase wear on the bearings using these...
Hopefully others will offer more specific advice...
