K....much appreciated insight gents! Good solid troubleshooting techniques
that logically work! (BTW Ron, you may NOT use the rope puller pic if you
are going to caption it "This is the WORST thing you can do!")
Only problem I have now is if the lower (small) is toast and the race is
(on 2nd examination) just as bad, then I will have to press in the new
race, assemble and measure, and then pull the race to install the correct
S3 because of wear on the race that could effect the reading?
I mean install both bearing and race before S3 reading?
Or does an OEM spec part come w/ tolerences true enough to calculate
from a present reading??
K.....this means more new tools.
I guess this learning process is gonna cost a bit, but I guess I should
have known that when I saw the thick and gritty nature of the tranny
scime.
