How can I tell if my FF is <81 or later?

I have a spare FF tranny that I'd like to pillage for the fifth gear to
swap into the 4K I have in the winter beater/tow vehicle...

The tranny chart on www.scirocco.org says that 80 and earlier FF
trannies had the .76 fifth, while the later units have a .71 fifth. How
can I tell which one mine is?

Here's the numbers off of the tranny.

Inside bellhousing: 020 301 107 C
                     WW0 12a

Outside, on bottom: FF 26011

Anyone help me out? I'd like to stay away from the .71 gear as it'll be
a little too tall when I'm towing. I have another FF in the 80 as well,
so hopefully one of them has the .76 gear.

If I remove the gear is there a way of telling which one it is? (dia.?)

Thanks!

Mark.
