2k jetta auto ps questions
Some of the A4 chassis VW's came with aluminum tie rod ends that wear very
quickly. There are replacement steel ones available now, and if you replace
the faulty ones, you will be able to get the car aligned.

just went in for alignment and when they got the car aligned, they noticed
the front wheels could wiggle back and forth a fairly decent amount,
negating the alignment. Now we know why her tires were wearing so badly. The
tire shop thought it is the power steering rod but said to get it to a shop
to find out if that's it. The car has a little over 50k miles on it. Does
anyone know if this is a problem area? Are there other things that may more
likely be the culprit? Seems that things like this should not be wearing out
already. Her front shocks, which feel fine while in the car, make a
squeaky/groaning sound over some bumps and when you push down on the bumper
with a bit of force. Shocks gone? Or somehow related to the wheel movement?
The car doesn't seem to drive strangely, it just feels like it could use an
alignment, but apparently the movement is very noticable as you can actually
take the wheel when it's on a
