engine types.
If your engine is a stock 1.8 16V it is a PL. The JH is the stock 1.8 8V
that came in Sciroccos starting in 83 (maybe 84?).
A 2.0 16V would be a 9A (not to be confused with the 9A tranny generally
used on 86 and later 8V Sciroccos), unless, of course, it's a bastard 2.0
short block and 1.8 16V head. That would be a PA or a 9L depending on which
is more important (this line is pure BS)
2.0 8V short blocks can be 3A or ABA.
Make sense??

Subject: engine types.
> Maybe this will help answer the question: I have an '86 16v. Now the
question: How do I tell which engine type I have? (ie: JH or PL) In
looking through the ETKA, when I clicked on a subgroup with the PL
designaiton, I noticed the head had DOHC 16V on it. Does this mean that all
16v's are PL?
