[TECH] - 3A/JH HYbrid
There is a two position connector (two little round female contacts) in the
general area of on top of the brake booster. One of the wires is blue/wht.
Don't know the other color since my car doesn't use CIS anymore. You plug a
dwell meter into these two contacts and adjust the 3mm allen in the fuel
distributor to obtain an average value of 45 deg/50% dwell. If the O2 sensor
is good the dwell meter should oscillate. Closing the WOT switch will make
the dwell go to 60deg/65% with no oscillation if I remember correctly.
If your freqency valve isn't vibrating you need to start running through all
the system checks in the Bentley. Maybe bad wiring or the control unit is
hosed.
Ref P5-30 and P6-12 in the 85 Scirocco and later Bentley for checking the
dwell.

PS. Did your car come with CIS-lambda or was it swapped over? Could be an
incomplete swap cause early cars only had plain vanilla CIS with no
frequency valve.
