Not necessarily Patrick, in the case of oil filters, if the seal fails I
think it would be more likey a result of the filter itself failing and
causing a blockage which raises the oil pressure to the point where a seal
fails.  I've read enough horror stories about cheap oil filters to know to
pay the extra couple of bucks and buy a dealer filter.  This is more of a
quality part vs. cheapo part issue rather than a random "shit happens"
scenario...
