So, your saying that none of the RD motors are digifant???  MOST of the RD
motors are digifant.  Someone said that they had a Jetta with a RD CIS-E and
I was surprised.  I guess you just don't see too many GTIs in the wreckers
anymore.  If they only made the CIS-E RD motors in 85 and 86, they made the
digifant RD motors in all the A2 platforms after that.  I am not absolutely
sure but all of the RD motors I've seen in the yard (many) are Digifant.

As far as "worthless high compression 8vs" is concerned, you said that, not
me.  Maybe you should step up to some real power someday and go 16v or maybe
it's just not for you.  I have a high compression 8v in my Rabbit Pickup,
it's a 1.6l diesel so I'm not at all opposed to high compression 8v motors.

Apparantly you didn't read the thread on Shannon's motor.  After the
problems I offered to help more than once with no response.  The motor
hasn't even been torn apart for any kind of verification after I did the
work.  The head has been replaced on the motor, someone has messed with the
rod and crank bearings since I rebuilt the motor and yet, no matter what I
say, it's my fault???  I also realize that I am not perfect and will be the
first to admit it which is why I offered to fix the problem for him.  I
would say that 1 out of the 50 to 75 motors I've rebuilt ain't bad!!  Just
too bad it had to be Shannon's motor (again, if it was my fault) because I
haven't had to deal with so many whinny babies in my life.

If you don't like my opinion, Eric, that's fine but you need to remember
that Rhett asked for everyone's OPINION!!  That is what I gave, that is what
you gave.  That should of been the end of the thread for you and I but you
had to try to attack my opinion.  Man, all you NW guys and your sniveling
compassion for Shannon.  Just realize that he made his decision to not get
back to me to fix the motor but then he decided to drag everyone else in on
this "Hate Dave for what he might have done to my motor" agenda instead of
dealing with me personally.   My suggestion to you, Eric, and everyone else
who has listened to the whines from Shannon to mind your own stinkin'
business or, hey what an idea, get the facts straight before going after
someone elses reputation.  If Shannon had torn the motor down atleast he'd
have something to go off of but he didn't even do that!!  Anyone else would
of said that he was up a creek when they found out all the Scirocco List in
the NW had their hands inside that motor after I did but I still offered to
fix it.  I don't know what more I could of offered or done?

You really should get the entire story, Eric, especially if your going to
try to discredit my opinion based on something as hyped up as this.  *rolls
eyes*  I always liked Shannon, he made me crack up with his wit but I cannot
feel sorry for someone who has to get a mob together to try and attack
someone for mistakes that he made himself.
