Idle Hunting

I have the car running well (I think) but the engine has the tendancy to 
"hunt". It idles up and down over quite a range of RPM. It drops to 850 then 
idles up to 1000-1100 over a span of 5 seconds
Once the car is moving it seems ok, but just sitting it ramps up and down.
My DPR STILL cannot be set after changing the motor and the sensors. So its 
off to check the wiring. Could this be the source of the "hunting"?
