suspension question - raising ride height

I'm surprised that few people have noticed that the McPherson strut IS a "coil-over". It just uses a larger spring and is not adjustable for ride height.

Personally I'm looking for an excuse to build a coilover kit, and this
would be a good reason to.

BSI sells what looks like the sleeves, collars, and hats, maybe you have
to come up with the springs and clamps...? This would be a great way to
dial custom spring rates for later spirited driving. You could probably
get it all put together for pretty cheap, too. Then you could just set
the toe with a tape measure and get one of those $20 harbor freight
camber gauges to set camber with.

All this talk about suspensions and lowering reminded me of a question I

was going to put to the list.
