  Based on the numbers for my wife's A4 GTI, I would bet pretty much any A3+ US VW is going to eclipse 3000 lbs.  With all the safety and convenience stuff they're packing into cars these days, the car rags are talking about "a svelte 2900 lbs."  Colin Chapman would not be amused.
