Charging problem

Stranger things have happened... but if you have a 55A alternator, those 
would need to be some big ass bulbs to sap that kind of power.

My famous trick?  Start the car, unplug the battery.  If it dies, the 
alternator isn't charging.  I have been advised that doing this could 
potentially damage your charging system, but I've never seen it happen and 
no one has ever offered an explanation... That said, do it at your own 
risk, but a few seconds won't harm anything IMO.
