Lexan/Plexi rear 1/4 Windows?

Has anyone ever replaced their rear 1/4 windows with either Lexan or 
plexiglass? If so how hard was it?? I was thinking of doing this for the 
trailer. That way when towing it it would be much lighter.  Also what about 
bending it and making one for the Hatch too?
