trunk popper!

yeah just go to a car stereo store and buy a generic trunk solenoid kit.
Get the least powerful one available, the others are all just overkill.  The
kit will come with a solenoid, some wiring, and a switch to put in your
glove box or something.   You can easily wire it to an extra function on
your alarm if you have one, which makes it really convenient.   I mounted it
in the cavity in the hatch just to the passenger side of the latch.  I think
it was pretty simple to make the cable pull on the release lever, and I
think the fact that there was no lock there made it alot easier.   Just make
sure you get the hole welded, my fiberglass bondo jobby fell apart within
months. It's really nice, the lid pops up a bit when you click it.
