[tech] Exhaust sparkies and flames

Saw this on Trucks! on TNN a while back.

1)Get a kit for such procedure, includes a dash mounted button and required relay and wiring, a spark plug, and a coil.

2)Install said wiring/switch/relay.

3)Install the spark plug near the end of your tailpipe, and install the coil nearby. Run a high tension wire and hook up the coil to the wiring from the kit.

4)Enjoy!! How it works: When the button is pressed, it shuts off the engine ignition coil so raw, unburned fuel is allowed to flow through the exhaust. At the same time, it fires up the rear coil/spark plug and ignites the fuel, resulting in flames. Size of flame is dependant on where the plug is placed in the exhaust system.

Drawbacks: Fuel is slippery, and if done too much fuel will seep past the rings and dilute the oil. Explosions are unfrequent, just big flames. Tailgaters beware! Bumper flambe, anyone?

Oh, and it's VERY illegal on the street too.

No, I haven't done it.
