now, the lifters.

mother of god.

this car is going to put me in an early grave.

i repaired the bottom end problem i was having last
week. replaced the crank and all the bearings at the bottom,
reassembled everything nice and tight. i started up the car
and there *so far* is no sign of the problem i was having
before. when i step on the clutch, i don't hear any noise,
and oil pressure stays steady.

but, the lifter are clacking insanely. i figured that it would
of passed because they we're dry from sitting all winter, but
that's not the case. i let it idle for 20 mins yesterday, clacking
away, eventually waiting for it to stop. it did.

for like 3 minutes.

then back to clacking. it was so odd. went totally silent and
running super smooth, and then right back up again it started.

today, i dumped a lil oil out and added 1/2 liter of ATF to see if it would
stop. no change at all. let it idle again for like 20 mins and
still clacking full force.

i'm running some temporary new 10w-30 for bearing wear in and my
old oil filter from last year.

now what should i look for? the lifters we're changed last june. all 16
of them.

help me fix this piece of shit!!
:)
