16V burns quart of oil per 1000miles

No engine that is properly built with good parts, and is in good shape will use oil.
Period.
Something is not right with an engine that burns or leaks oil.

  I put a used 2L block in my 16V and it went goes thru about 1qt per 1000
  miles.  TT says that the 2L goes thru more oil because the oil rings are 1mm
