OT: what to do about an accident- need advice please

i think you are kinda screwed on this one. i know by local laws your 
girlfriend would lose her liscense for driving without insurance, plus she'd 
have to pay a big reinstatment fee, a good sized fine, plus carry proof of 
insurance for the next five years. hopefully they're a little more lienant 
where you are.
  as for the car it depends on who's fault the accident was. either way 
she's "on the hook" for the car until it's paid off. if the accident was the 
other guys fault though at least his/her insurance co. should pay the 
damages. if it was her fault, well, let's not go there.
  little word to the wise from someone who's been there, don't think about 
refusing to pay for the car just cause it's totalled. not only will it wreck 
her credit but chances are they'll just sue her anyways and get the money 
through wage garnishment.
