Speedo Problems

Sounds very familiar to my situation, ever changed your axles in the dorm parking lot?(which I almost never get a spot in since they sell more parking passes than there are spaces). Anyway, the trans code is at the very bottom of the trans, you can see it from the ground looking up. It is stamped onto a kind of flat rectangle on the bottom of the bellhousing. You only need the first few numbers/letters (such as 4K,2H,or FF). For an '83 yours probably came with a 2H from the factory. A better question to ask yourself is what RPM were you at going 55mph behind your buddy? On my '83 with a 2H, I'm at 4,000RPM@75MPH, quite high. 55mph is around 3,000 IIRC. HTH,

somebody I know that can check it. I haven't gotten to dig into my engine
yet because it is parked 20 min drive away and my dd is 30 min walk away
from my dorm. So I only get to see my roc on the wknds :-(

I don't know what tranny I have, but I do know I am running 175/70/13's
which I believe is factory from what I hear. Where is the tranny code so I
can find out whats up?

Peace Out,
