Wrenching in the Bay Area
If I get a replacement motor, wrenching is planned for the weekend of
4/4-4/6 - planned is at most the weekend since I want to get the car in and
out of Jeff's and especially his wife's hair (who are already more
accomodating than I could ask for - this shows the true good nature of
people on this list!!)
Oh, any leads on 1.8 or 2.0 motors would be good too, just in case the one
I'm lookig at doesn't come through.
Planned actions:
motor swap
tranny swap (includes taking flanges off the old tranny and attaching to the
new, attaching new clutch parts etc
wheel bearings (I have the toolkit here, time to give it a whirl)
ball joints
strut bearings
swapping the MC and booster and bleeding the brakes (might take extra work
since the valves seem to be blocked to some degree)
ripping out the dead AC components in the engine bay (might as well get em
out of the way)
installing an exhaust
installing rear swaybar
How's that sound?
