got my 2.5" centre pipe!

Hi Neal;
   Two and a half inch pipe does fit over the axle. I'm running an Audi 1800
8V with 10 to 1 compression and a 4 into 2
early Rabbit cast iron manifold with a Tectonics Tuning long non-cat down
pipe coupled to a two and a half inch pipe from just behind the shifter over
the axle and out the back with a 14 inch turbo muffleron my 1979 Scirocco.
My local muffler
shop did the job and it works perfectly. It initially had a rattle over big
bumps but I took it in and they did a little adjustment and now it doesn't
hit at all. I find it hard to understand why people buy exhaust components
and install it them-selves when a muffler shop can usualy build you a system
you want for the same or less money and all you have to do is drive it into
the shop. I have never dealt with a muffler system on a car that it didn't
cause me to use words that would have got my mouth washed out with soap if I
was a kid.
