tech: how to rig ABS sensors? (traction control is here)
Scott,
I can confirm in fact that there were euro rocs with ABS. When I was at
Roadstar in 2000, I saw at least one Scirocco (I think it was a '92) with
an ABS warning light as part of the parking brake/seat belt warning light
assembly. Here is my only picture:

That's all I know, but some of our euro listers may be able to help you. I
would guess that the ABS sensors are probably the same as for other vw's
(model-interchangable parts are tremendous, thanks vw!). I also believe
that ABS is quite rare (and so would be difficult to get ahold of) and
probably only came on '92s.
My only experience with ABS is with my friend's Corrado SLC. The sensors
are black plastic half-of-a-semicircle shaped thingies that are bolted to
the strut assembly IIRC. I didn't care at the time so I didn't get too
good of a look, but I don't think it would be too hard to fab something to
mount sensors from an A2 US dub on an A1.
